Background: Drug Delivery, Cell Penetrating Peptides, Super-resolution Microscopy
Profile: Alis has obtained her bachelor degree in Biochemistry from the University of Bucharest. Then she went to The Netherlands for the masters program Molecular Mechanisms of Disease in Radboud University, Nijmegen. She did a 6-months internship in the Dept. of Biochemistry of Radboud university medical center, under the supervision of Prof. Roland Brock, where she studied the uptake mechanism of cell penetrating peptides using confocal microscopy techniques. Then she enhanced her microscopy training during her master project in the group of Lorenzo Albertazzi in IBEC, where she characterized the size and stoichiometry of individual polyplex particles (complexes of mRNA and cell penetrating peptides) using stochastic optical reconstruction microscopy (STORM). Currently, she returned under Albertazzi´s supervision as a MSCA fellow, for imaging and quantifiying the delivery of nanocatalysts into models of cancer tissue
ETN Topic: Super resolution imaging of catalytic nanoparticles delivery
